first photo of sacha baron cohen in the dictator

Good to see you again, Sacha, but you look different…are those sunglasses new? Ha!

Check out the newly released photo (above) of Sacha Baron Cohen in The Dictator!

As we mentioned back in May, here's what the film's storyline is about:

"A heartless dictator finds he's been mutinied against by his number two man and replaced in power by an unsuspecting sheepherder lookalike. (Sacha will be playing dual roles). As he wanders the streets, he finds himself in an organic food store and meets the owner (Anna Faris). Her character will show the dictator a new way of life and perhaps a little romance!"

What do U think of Sacha's new look for The Dictator?

Hottie actor Chris Evans, who can be seen this Summer in the Marvel Comics superhero film Captain America: The First Avenger, has admitted in a new interview that he is losing his hair. Last night I made my way out to the El Rey Theatre here in LA, CA to see Death Cab for Cutie live in concert. My ex-bf Erik is a huge emo/hipster and it was his influence that got me into Death Cab/Postal Service/etc. We never got to see the band in concert when we were together so last night was my first DCFC show. I am happy to report that the show was really fantastic.

The show was a solid 2 hours long and the setlist was packed with classic songs paired with new offerings from their new album Codes and Keys. As I understand it, this leg of the Death Cab tour is strictly for fans … tickets were sold via Will Call only so that scalpers could not get their hands on the tix. I really enjoyed the show from start to finish. The band played all of my fave songs and made the new songs sound fresh and exciting. If you get the chance, I highly recommend you see DCFC on this tour. Trust me, they put on a great show.

Tonight, David and I will be attending the Hollywood premiere of Super 8. We are both very excited and are very much looking forward to seeing the film in full. Wee!

Buying A Beginner Drum Set Know What To Look For

If there was one pop group that truly captured the spirit of the swinging sixties, then it was the Beatles, and any karaoke event centred around a sixties revival would be sadly lacking without plenty of popular karaoke songs by the Beatles. During the years they were active, from 1962 to 1970, the Beatles produced an incredible 214 original compositions. Often their B-side recordings featured hits as well and some of the LPs intended for the American market, differed expensively from British productions. On the first five albums, love featured prominently as a theme which was perhaps no surprise. John Lennon was at the time very much in love with his wife Cynthia, while Paul McCartney, who dated several girls throughout their rise to fame, also embraced the concept of romance. John Lennon's young son Julian also inspired a few songs, for example 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds' which originated with a picture he drew in pre-school and 'Hey Jude', an expression of empathy for the boy by Paul McCartney, during his parents' divorce. With Beatle mania sometimes reaching fever pitch, this talented group left a treasure trove of memorable recordings.

Encourage Children to Play a Reliable Pocket Size Trumpet

Broncho (pronounced BRON-CHO) is the by-product of Ryan Lindsey's solo career. One day an opportunity presented itself to Ryan to score songs for a film project about a fictional punk band. Seizing the opportunity, Ryan enlisted the musical services of Johnathon Ford (Unwed Sailor, Native Lights), Ben King (Refund Division, The Hero Factor) and Nathan Price (Refund Division, Vandevander). Once the band lineup was settled, the band began writing and recording music for this "shot in the dark" scoring opportunity.

Panic At The Discos Brendon Uries Nasty Stage Injury (VIDEO)

Brendon Urie of Panic At The Disco is not some wimpy Emo dude. Nope. He really hurt himself during a live show, and decided to keep on rockin’, despite a massively swollen ankle. Don’t let the ridiculous looking vest in the video fool you, this could be filed under “true rock star moments.” After getting up close and personal with the crowd at a show in Jacksonville, Florida, Brendon stepped back on stage with a limp. He sort of hobbles for a second trying to pull his shoe off…then BOOM: the reveal. The crowd lets loose a sort of sympathetic, but still grossed out “ooooooooohhhhh,” as he shows off a pretty sick looking dumpling of an ankle injury. Let’s be honest, most people would be on the ground screaming, but this guy just sort of takes it like a man. He doesn’t even walk off stage to be check out. He just makes a couple of jokes about his grandmother’s goiter and straps on a guitar. The crowd seems to really appreciate his dedication and gets pretty fired up before the next song. Eventually the show ended and Brendon made it to the hospital, but not before sending this photo [...]

Jazz Music: A Quick Lesson on Its Roots

The term "electronic keyboard" refers to any instrument that produces sound by the pressing or striking of keys, and uses electricity, in some way, to facilitate the creation of that sound. The use of an electronic keyboard to produce music follows an inevitable evolutionary line from the very first musical keyboard instruments, the pipe organ, clavichord, and harpsichord.

Changing a VHS to DVD

Whether you are a famous painter or an aspiring artist, you must never compromise on the quality of the art materials you use. Quality materials are essential regardless of your artistic ability as it does not matter if you create paintings for a living or you are just a hobbyist because how good your supplies are will directly impact on the art you make. Shopping for art materials on the internet can be confusing as it is often difficult to ascertain how good the supplies actually are because there is sometimes a big difference...

Perfect Wedding Bands and Music Make the Right Choice

One of the most important components for any guitar setup is a great set of speakers. Axe players need a good set in order to properly hear the music they're playing, and purchasing the wrong ones can lead to less than stellar sound. Players say a guitar is only as good as its speaker, and if you're not going to buy an adequate speaker bundle, then there's no point in purchasing or owning a professional six-string.

Watch: Paris Hilton Gets Scolded On The View

This week, Paris Hilton and her mother Kathy made an appearance on The View to promote her new WE TV reality TV series The World According to Paris which, according to Paris, is meant to show the world the “real” her. Right off the bat, both Whoopi Goldberg and Barbara Walters grilled Paris about her [...]

Last night David and I got to hang out with our friend Emma and all we basically did was eat and talk and eat and talk … and watch TV. Then we snacked. Yeah, it was a pretty rad night. Because Emma is heading off on an Australian adventure a couple of weeks, we wanted to get in as much hang out time with her while we still can. All in all, not a bad way to spend a Wednesday night.

We made our way to Hugo’s for dinner and got talked into trying their Avocado ice cream with Chipotle sauce dessert. Let me tell you … it was grody to the max. The avocado ice cream wasn’t bad but the Chipotle sauce? Ew! It was like eating ice cream with BBQ sauce. Trust me, don’t try it :( Except for the dessert misfire, the rest of our night was really fun.

But tonight, oh man, tonight is going to be awesome. I’m going to see the 80′s hair/metal band Cinderella at the House of Blues:

Now, I was never a big metal head but I do remember and appreciate the awesome hairband videos of the late 80′s and early 90′s … when I was too young to attend these kinds of concerts. I’ve always wanted to go to a show like this so … I guess tonight is my chance. My friend Jen is going to the show as well so, yeah, it should be fun. I’ll be sure to share some photos from the bitchin’ Cinderella show tomorrow.

Happy Thursday!

Though it initially aired in only the seven cities of Atlanta, Cleveland, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and San Francisco, the show met with a successful start. The show is complete with celebrity appearances and musical performances with teen appeal for their voting audience ranging in age from 13-19.

America's Got Talent on TV

NBC's got talent when it comes to producing winning reality-performance competition shows!

Last night, America's Got Talent debuted to record numbers with 15 million viewers during the first hour and 16.6 million the second.

The nationwide talent show then boosted viewership for The Voice, which had taken a ratings dip, but garnered 14.4 million viewers on Tuesday night.

The talented combo made NBC the most watched network on Tuesday night, beating out ABC's NBA Final between the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks.

Not too shabby! On the other hand, what is America to do without any more Idol this season?

We're curious to see if NBC will remain an audience favorite for vocal competitions when the X Factor premieres on FOX this fall.

Would U watch NBC's talent shows over FOX's?

two-and-a-half-men-not-in-the-running-for-best-comedy-series-emmy

Yeah, after the year they've had, we're not surprised!

Although Two and a Half Men is apparently eligible for the nomination of Best Comedy Series at this year's Emmy Awards, sources close to the production have revealed that given the circumstances surrounding Charlie Sheen and his firing from the sitcom, Warner Brothers TV smartly decided to NOT submit it for the accolade!

However, the studio will be creating ad campaigns for series co-stars Jon Cryer, Holland Taylor, Angus T. Jones and Conchata Ferrell in support of their individual nominations, which are normally submitted by their representatives!

As for Sheen, he missed the April 29th deadline!

Shocker! LOLz!

Here's hoping that all of his co-stars get properly recognized for their amazing performances and work ethic, given the circumstances surrounding that this year! They all went above and beyond, and we think that deserves some serious nominations!

Fingers crossed, guys!

Best Electric Guitar

If you are anything like me, Old School Advent Speakers are about more than just a great bookshelf speaker. They are about nostalgia - a time in our lives when things were simpler, music was better and the world wasn't as complicated as it is today. The affordable nature of the Large Advent Speakers only reinforces this notion - somethings are best when cheap and simple.

Theater Review: God Of Carnage

After missing the show on Broadway, David and I were very excited to learn that the Tony Award-winning play God of Carnage was being performed here in LA with the original Broadway cast — Marcia Gay Harden, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Jeff Daniels. We waited for a performance where we could get really good [...]

So … I had a very long night/morning today … and am alive and functioning to tell the tale. As I mentioned yesterday, last night David and I attended the 8pm performance of the stage play God of Carnage and then I attended a 2AM concert performance by Prince in the intimate Foundation Room at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA. I’ll post my review of God of Carnage shortly but the Prince show, man, what an incredible night.

As many of you are well aware by now, I’ve been seeing Prince a LOT in concert here in LA over the past few weeks including a couple of very intimate shows at The Troubadour a couple of weeks ago. Last night’s House of Blues show in the Foundation Room was truly the most intimate show possible … arm’s length … I was arm’s legnth from Prince for most of the night (except for the times when he stepped away to play bass or jam in front of his speaker). The show was a 2 1/2 hour jam session … I was literally in awe the entire time. Even in high heel shoes, Prince only came up to my nose … that is how short he is … so I am very glad that I managed to get right up in front of him to watch the show. Even 3 people back and I would not have been able to see him at all. The Foundation Room is the size of a large living room … and I am not exaggerating at all. Because there was no elevated stage, most people in the room couldn’t even see Prince at all. I’m not sure what the experience was like for those people but I know that I will never, EVER see him in a more intimate place. It was truly a night/morning to remember. I rolled home hearing the early birds chirping … it was a spectacular night.

Tonight, I’m heading out to see another concert … this time, Stevie Nicks! She is playing The Wiltern on her birthday tonight … and I am so excited. I’ve always wanted to see her live and almost saw her a few weeks ago but she was touring with Rod Stewart and there was no way in HELL I was gonna sit thru a Rod Stewart show. I’m gonna need a nap this afternoon but, yeah, I’m really lookin’ forward to Stevie!!

Homemade Jewerly Creating The Right Ensemble

Subliminal pertains to below the threshold of consciousness. Stimuli that slide below this threshold with consciousness are stimuli which, while not consciously recognized, may influence judgment, attitude, and behavior on a great unconscious level. Subliminal influences have got a similar purpose as hypnosis because they attempt to reach the subconscious to support effect desired change when used in a positive manner.
