News just broke that Dan Gordon-Levitt, older brother of ‘Inception’ star Joseph Gordon-Levitt is dead. He was 36-years-old. Read more below.
The actor broke the news about his brother’s death to his 134,000 plus followers via Twitter yesterday evening. He tweeted:
My super hero brother @burningdan 1974-2010. Celebrate his life here ~ http://bit.ly/dBTMQ8 because he’s f–king awesome.
He followed up later on with:
“He would absolutely positively insist that we not let this bad news deter us on our collective mission…So let’s celebrate him, he’s f–king awesome.”
As a biography, Dan Gordon-Levitt better know by his nickname “Burning Dan” was a Flow Artist, performance photographer, swashbuckler, computer programmer, and a self-described Internet citizen bent on saving the world with panache. He was also a regular at Nevada’s annual Burning Man event. People close to him describe him as “creative spirit”. He was a master of his craft, and put forth a lot of positive energy into this world. During his lifetime he traveled the world on a mission to teach people how to spin fire and “be who they want to be”. According to the about me section on his website – http://burningdan.tumblr.com/ – he performed on Broadway, naked oil wrestled an albino and a porn star, taught a room full of 100 black people to dance, help develop hitRECord, and built a pillow fort on an airplane. Burning Dan was a guy who sought to both inspire and to be inspired. The cause of death is still uncertain.
